

‘What started out as a mad thought was seized upon enthusiastically by those I first approached. The mad thought was to host lunch for octogenarians in the pre-Christmas season.’
Volunteers came forward to cook to decorate the room, to wash up, to serve, to act as chauffeurs. Seventeen seniors sat down to lunch, and soon were discovering where their paths had crossed in the past.
‘See you next year,’ was their parting farewells.
