In November, a group of young people and friars from Southport, Edinburgh, Birmingham,
London, Kent and Leeds gathered together at Boarbank Hall, Grange-over-sands. The
theme of the weekend was 'The Way Home'.
Our weekend began on the Friday night, when we arrived to a fantastic meal, which we were all ready for, as some people had travelled for six hours.
After dinner, we gathered together for some ice-breaking games, it was nice to see some familiar faces and also to meet new people.
On Saturday, we had an early start and a day filled with different sessions, such
as Lectio Divina, and other group work discussing 'Who is God for me?'. After a busy
morning, a few of us headed off for a walk into the village, and came back to a very
interesting talk by Gianni on the life of St Augustine. Later in the evening we spent
some time in the chapel, reflecting on the day, and finished the day off relaxing,
playing games and listening to ghost stories!
Sunday was a very short day, we celebrated Mass with the community and then shared a lovely lunch with the Sisters, whose hospitality made the weekend more special. Our few days went really quickly, and we are all looking forward to meeting each other again in July, when we go to Australia for the World Youth Gathering.
