St Monica's Confirmation Group prove their Gardening and Footballing Credentials!

This year, five boys took part in the Confirmation programme at St Monica’s, Hoxton.  As part of their service to the community they leant a hand at the parish’s neighbouring Primary School, helping to get rid of weeds at the front of the building.  It was hard work on a hot day, but fuelled by soft drinks and pizza they managed to clear a large area of ground in record time; Head Teacher, Violet Richardson, was very impressed.  At the same time, volunteers from UBS bank were also on site preparing St Monica’s school's new Eco Garden for its grand opening that week.  The groups met on their lunch break and the UBS volunteers challenged the boys to a football match - something they may have regretted as the St Monica's boys proved to be as adept at football as pulling out weeds!
