Nigel Bavidge,

permanent deacon, affiliate OSA, founding member and organiser of Friends of Augustine for many years, who is seriously ill.  Nigel organised the music for the Masses at our Provincial Chapters since we went to Hinsley Hall.

Mark Wharton

who died suddenly on Monday 8 February, aged 85.  Mark assisted Fr Brian Hannon in producing the Gilbert & Sullivan operas at Austin Friars School.  After Brian’s retirement, Mark took over, and broadened the scope of the productions.  His first production of ‘Oliver’ was a memorable achievement.

Mark, a vet by profession and a shrewd businessman,  gave beneficial advice to the school on money management.  He served on the governing body and the finance committee.

His funeral took place in Wreay parish church, where he was an active member and an elder.  Killian O’Mahoney, Bernard O’Connor and Terry Fee represented the Order at the funeral.
